Luxury Canadian Fly In Fishing at Scott Lake Lodge

IMAGINE THE CLASSIC CANADIAN FLY IN FISHING LODGE: it would of course be located in a remote wilderness, on a small island surrounded by 100,000 acres of water so clean and clear you could drink it; it would have private, pine paneled cabins with views of the lake; there would be three Beaver floatplanes docked in front and a dozen boats ready to go; the main lodge would be on a hill with commanding views; the entire facility would be eco-friendly with a photovoltaic power system, composting toilets and four-stroke outboards; the customer service would be world class and the professional, experienced guides would be highly competent and personally engaging; the dining would be first class and the place would have a classy spa, a hot tub, a well stocked bar and high quality complimentary fishing equipment for your use; it would naturally be the only lodge within 50 miles and, oh yes, the fishing would be excellent. Hold that thought. You have just pictured Scott Lake Lodge. Take a spin around this website and get the feel for the finest fishing lodge in Canada.

What you will find on this site are images of girthy northern pike, absolutely hog-like lake trout, arrestingly beautiful arctic grayling, descriptions of the fishing over the past season, profiles of our guide team, travel details, overviews of our ten fly out destinations and much more. We think you will like what you find. What we can’t show or even adequately describe is what makes Scott Lake Lodge unique—a level of personalized customer service unknown in this industry. With thirty-two staff on site to service a maximum of twenty-four guests, Scott Lake Lodge can handle just about anything. Every detail of your trip will receive our full attention. Scott is an angling community where guides, shore staff and clients share the excitement and serenity of this pristine ecosystem.

Located on the border of the Northwest Territories and Saskatchewan, almost exactly on the 60th parallel, Scott Lake Lodge is right on the edge of the largest untouched wilderness area in the world. Between us and the Arctic Ocean is nothing but lakes and empty country. With our fly out destinations we offer fishing on over a quarter of a million acres of productive water spread over a 5,000 square mile area—that’s a real backyard. You and the 23 other anglers have an incredible level of privacy and exclusivity. But you will not face that vast aquatic wilderness alone. The Scott guide team is simply the best. Our starting 12 guides have an average of 11 years of guiding and 8 years at Scott. No two are alike but all offer excellent communication skills, a passionate desire to find their customers big fish and an in depth knowledge of the pike, trout and grayling of the north. Your total satisfaction is their only measure of success. For most of their waking hours you are their job. And they are good at it. Over the past ten years they have helped the annual average of 400 clients per get face time with around 800 trophy pike, 400 trophy lake trout and 400 trophy grayling per year. That’s four trophies per angler. And some of those fish were huge. In a typical year about fifty pike between forty-five and fifty inches are caught and about forty lake trout between forty and forty-five inches are cradled by guides. Lots of huge fish and almost (there are cold fronts) always frantic action. Catches of sixty to eighty fish a day per angler are not unusual.

Let’s review: great facilities, extraordinary customer service, skilled guides, wonderful dinning and to-die-for fishing. It must be Scott Lake Lodge.
